The Phantom 4 RTK is DJI’s latest Enterprise drone – a platform designed to change the game for construction and building surveyors across multiple commercial applications.
The D-RTK 2 Mobile Station can be seamlessly connected with the fully-integrated Phantom 4 RTK system to achieve centimetre-accurate results in mapping areas with poor mobile network coverage, using OcuSync 2.0 transmission system. The GNSS receiver supports multiple GPS systems to provide real-time data.

With a brand-new RTK module fitted into the top of the drone, the built-in centimetre-level navigation and positioning system can provide real-time data with 3cm accuracy. Paired with a redundant GNSS module, it is able to gain accurate results from stabilised flight even in areas with weak mobile network coverage. The D-RTK 2 mobile station can be also connected with this fully-integrated system, to achieve even more accurate results in areas with poor mobile network coverage.
Setting up ground control points can become a thing of the past, with only 0-5 GCPs required when deploying the Phantom 4 RTK. Without GCPs, the achievable horizontal accuracy is up to 3cm and vertical accuracy up to 5cm.
Although featuring the same 1-inch, 20MP CMOS sensor as the Phantom 4 Pro, the Phantom 4 RTK camera allows the operator to produce the original imagery minus distortion correction, providing more precise images for post-processing. Mapping accuracy meets the requirements of the ASPRS Accuracy Standards for Digital Orthophotos Class III.
The new TimeSync system works to simultaneously align the flight controller, camera and RTK module, whilst matching the positioning data to the centre of the 1-inch CMOS sensor. The Phantom 4 RTK will fly across complex terrain from a specified static height and has the ability to do so turning through the pre-set route at a consistent speed. The operator also has the ability to select and amend the flight path, at the same time adjusting altitude, speed, overlap rate and camera settings (to name a few!) – making drone mapping easier and more efficient than ever before.
All of this can be achieved within an extended battery life of 30 minutes, allowing the operator to map large areas per flight. Should the batteries require replacing/recharging during a flight, afterward the flight mission is automatically resumed due to the Operation Resumption function of the GS RTK App.
When processing the captured data, images can be used to create multiple industry-acceptable deliverables, including; point cloud classification, vectorisation, BIM (building information modelling), and volume/mass calculation.
