In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to link the Mavic Air Remote Controller to the DJI Mavic Air.
Before you start, you’ll need to ensure the following:
- You have download and installed the latest version of DJI GO 4 app (from the App Store or Google Play) on your smartphone.
- Your Mavic Air battery level is higher than 50%.
- Your smartphone is connected to the internet.
When the Mavic Air Remote Controller cannot be connected to the aircraft its Status LED will remain solid red and your Mavic Air Aircraft Status Indicator will flash yellow quickly (every 0.5 seconds), notifying you that re-linking is required:
There are a couple of different ways to complete the re-linking:
Linking the Mavic Air Remote Controller with DJI GO 4
Firstly, you’ll need to turn on your remote controller and aircraft. Then, launch the DJI GO 4 app on your smartphone and click ‘Enter Device’ followed by ‘Enter Camera View’:
Once you’ve entered the flight interface via your smartphone, click on ‘Main Controller Settings’ (three horizontal white dots) in the top right corner:
Then click on the ‘Remote Controller Settings’:
Now scroll to the bottom and click the button ‘Linking Remote Controller’ and tap ‘OK’ on the next screen:
The remote controller will start beeping to signal that it’s ready to be linked. Press and hold the Function Button on the tail of the aircraft for approx. 3 seconds:
After a single louder beep, your Mavic Air will start linking and the front LEDs will flash red quickly:
Your aircraft should then stop flashing red and change to a slower green flash. The remote controller Status LED will change to solid green. The GO 4 app will let you know that the remote controller has been linked successfully, then click ‘OK’:
Your Mavic Air Remote Controller has been linked successfully.
Linking the Mavic Air Remote Controller with Combination Buttons
Press and hold the Function Button on the tail of the aircraft for approx. 3 seconds and release it when you hear a single beep:
Your Mavic Air will start linking and the front LEDs will flash red quickly:
Next, simultaneously press the Flight Pause Button, Function Button and Customisable Button:
Once you hear a beeping noise, release all three buttons. The linking process has begun:
Once the beeping noise has stopped, the remote controller Status LED has changed to solid green and the Aircraft Status Indicator starts flashing green, your Mavic Air Remote Controller has been linked successfully.
