In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to calibrate the IMU of your DJI Mavic Air.
Before you start, you’ll need to ensure the following:
- You have download and installed the latest version of DJI GO 4 app (from the App Store or Google Play) on your smartphone.
- Your Mavic Air battery level is fully charged.
- Your smartphone is connected to the internet.
Firstly, place your Mavic Air aircraft (unfolded) on a flat surface:
Uplift advise you to remove the propellers when completing the IMU calibration process.
Then you will need to turn on the remote controller and connect it with your smartphone. Once in position, turn on your drone and launch the DJI GO 4 app. Click ‘Go Fly’:
Once you’ve entered the app interface, click on the ‘Main Controller Settings’ menu (three horizontal white dots) in the top right corner of your screen:
Scroll down and click ‘Advanced Settings’:
In the Advanced Settings, scroll down and click ‘Sensors’:
Next, click ‘Calibrate IMU’ followed by the ‘Start’ button to being the calibration process:
You will now need to follow the GO 4 app positioning instructions carefully; the IMU calibration will fail if the positions are incorrect. Also, we advise you not to attempt to start the motor during the calibration process.
There are six different positions:
Once you have gone through all of the correct positioning steps, the GO 4 app will notify you that the IMU Calibrations is complete and you can restart your aircraft:
