Thinking of Commercial Drone Training? Here’s 5 Reasons to Train with Uplift Drones
That’s it, you’ve made the decision to get your CAA Permission of Commercial Operations (PfCO). You’re one step closer to becoming a commercial drone pilot.
But with the drone industry continuing to grow at an astonishing rate, more and more companies are becoming CAA approved National Qualified Entity’s (NQE) and options on who to train with seem to be endless.
But what makes us different from the rest?
Well at Uplift Drones, we feel that we’ve got that something special; from our highly experienced trainers to the most fun and engaging courses you’re likely to find; here are just five of the reasons why you should choose Uplift to train with…
1) Lifetime Support
That’s right, you read that correctly.
Once you become an Uplift customer, whether that be through purchasing equipment or booking one of our training courses – we’ll provide you with lifetime support and will be alongside you every step of the way through your new journey.
Once you’ve trained or bought from us we will always be just a phone call away for any of your drone-related needs, from training to repairs to tech questions – there is only one place that you need to come.
When you buy a drone from a big corporation, you may have to send your drone off for a long period of time when you experience technical issues, or struggle to receive the support you need, but that’s not the case with us.
We’ll do all that we can to make sure your needs are met as soon as possible and to the highest standard possible – it’s the only way we know how to do things!
2) Experienced Trainers
With years of first-hand experience, our trainers not only provide 1:1 support but are always on-hand to answer any questions you may have about the drone industry, different platforms and what they do, plus how to build your career with drone technology.
Our team consists of current professional drone pilots, equipment experts and aviation experts who have used, sold, built and trained with drones for many years.
Our trainers are also able to help with your career development – we don’t just provide PfCO drone training – we provide Drone Mapping and OSC Volume 3 (reduced distance / exemption) courses too!
3) Market-leading Equipment
You might not know this, but we recently changed our name.
What was once Uplift Drone Training has now become simply Uplift Drones. Short. Snappy. Effective.
And why have we done this?
Well, we are not only able to provide you with the highest standard of training but also with market-leading equipment as well; the term a ‘drone one-stop-shop’ has been thrown about, but whether you decide to call us that is entirely up to you!
From this year’s incredible DJI Mavic Air, to the Ronin-S, to the latest Pix4D drone mapping software, we have the equipment to fulfil all of your drone-related needs. While we’ll also have one of the most eagerly anticipated drones of all-time, the DJI Mavic Pro II, as soon as it’s available; so keep your eyes peeled for the pre-order!
Here at Uplift, we provide three CAA-approved drone training courses that lead to gaining your Permission for Commercial Operations – the Advanced PfCO the Fast Track PfCO and the Pilot’s PfCO. It doesn’t matter whether you have never flown a drone in your life or you’re a commercial airline pilot – we have a course for you!
All our PfCO courses provide you with access to our pre-course e-learning materials and then once you are on the course, you will receive two days of classroom/based theory training*, or Ground School, while the Advanced version adds a day of practical flight training too.
Once you’ve decided which course is the right fit for you – you are spoilt for choice on where you want to do the course as we have 7 locations across the UK in Glasgow, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Brighton, Manchester, High Wycombe, Guildford and Bristol.
To see if we still have the dates you need at the location that best suits you, head over to our 2018 calendar here!

5) Relaxed/Fun Training
Although undertaking commercial drone training can initially be seen as pretty intense and even a tad stressful (the last time we took a theory exam was at school in 1975!) – that’s not how you would describe our training experience.
You might think we’re all tech tech tech, but that is not the case. Each course is taken at an enjoyable pace in a relaxed environment, to make sure that you get the most out of your course.
And if you feel stuck at any time don’t worry about it – that’s exactly what our trainers are here for – they’re more than happy to answer any questions from what’s a prop, to how to fix a motor, to what was their pet’s first name – it’s all part of the fun.
If all of that doesn’t convince you that Uplift Drones is the right fit for you, well then quite frankly, we don’t know what will!
But how about the fact that we’ve got a Price Promise across all our PfCO training courses; so if you can find the same offering elsewhere at a cheaper rate, we promise to happily match or beat the price for you.
